New Boulton Moor Care Home Welcomes HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire on Grand Open Day

16 December 2025 Bowesbury

Bowesbury care home in Boulton Moor celebrated its Winter Wonderland themed Grand Open Day recently, welcoming HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Mrs Elizabeth Fothergill CBE, the Deputy Mayor of Derby, Councillor Philip Ingall, and Deputy Mayoress, Councillor Celia Ingall.

Guests from the local community enjoyed an array of seasonal, homemade treats alongside live entertainment from talented vocalist, Lady Lindy.

A Wish Tree was placed in the home’s Garden Room, where visitors were invited to write their wishes for Bowesbury and its residents.

In the spirit of giving back, Bowesbury donated a personalised Santa’s Grotto Christmas Hamper to Shelton FC for their annual Christmas raffle. Players from the team visited the home to receive the donation.

Denise Spencer, the General Manager at Bowesbury said,

“We were absolutely delighted to welcome so many members of our community to Bowesbury for our Grand Open Day. It was a privilege to share this special moment with our distinguished guests, residents, and families.

“We are especially thrilled to have now welcomed our first resident, and we look forward to growing our Bowesbury family in the weeks ahead.”
