Penrose Croft is a new, purpose-built care home in Helston, Cornwall. Offering high-quality residential, dementia and respite care for up to 66 people, the home combines premium living with personalised support for those who value comfort and independence.

Nestled on the edge of Helston and within easy reach of the wider Lizard Peninsula and the coastal town of Porthleven, Penrose Croft is ideal for families searching for a care home in West Cornwall.

The home offers beautiful, fully furnished en‑suite bedrooms, thoughtfully designed lounges and private dining areas, a salon, a cinema room, and landscaped gardens. With 24‑hour support, freshly prepared meals and a varied activities programme, residents can stay as active and connected to the local community as they choose.

Annmarie Thomas

General Manager

Annmarie was born and raised in West Cornwall and has been passionate about care from a young age. Inspired by her mother, a care assistant, she spent time in care homes as a child and knew from the age of six that she wanted to help others.

She began her career in care at 16 and studied Social Work at the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Welfare Studies. Annmarie has built extensive experience across domiciliary, nursing, and residential care, becoming a CQC Registered Manager at just 27. She also holds a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management.
Annmarie is deeply committed to person-centred care for both residents and their families. Having experienced care from both a professional and personal perspective, she understands how important it is to create an environment where people feel safe, valued, and truly at home. She is passionate about helping people live fulfilling lives, full of purpose, dignity, and joy.

Annmarie takes pride in making people smile and empowering others to live life to the fullest. She believes that everyone deserves respect, individuality, and the highest quality of life, regardless of age or circumstance.

Outside of work, Annmarie enjoys musical theatre, live music, and reading, and loves spending time at the beach—firmly believing Cornwall’s coastline is second to none. She lives with her partner, his daughter, and her much-loved cat, Lola.

Deborah grew up in Porthleven, Cornwall, and brings a wealth of experience and a personable approach to her role as Customer Relationship Manager at Penrose Croft.

With a background in operations, sales, events, and accommodation management, she has developed a strong understanding of delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Having successfully run her own businesses, Deborah understands the importance of trust, reputation, and building meaningful relationships.

She is passionate about supporting families through their care journey—taking the time to listen, understand individual needs, and guide them with empathy and clarity to find the right solution.

Deborah prides herself on creating a warm, welcoming first impression and ensuring every enquiry is handled with care, professionalism, and a personal touch. Her friendly and approachable nature helps families feel at ease, supported, and confident in their decisions.

A proud mother to her two adult children, Deborah describes them as her greatest achievement. She also shares her home with Hugo, her much-loved black Labrador. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, spending time at the beach, and taking part in water sports—making the most of Cornwall’s beautiful coastline.
