Middleshaw Hills care home in Clitheroe is proud to support the launch of a new inclusive community support group at Barrow Village Hall, helping bring local people together for friendship and support every Monday afternoon from 1st June.
The initiative has been developed through a collaborative effort involving Ribble Valley Crossroads Care, Ribble Valley Borough Council, Barrow Parish Council Clerk Sandie Wells, and Middleshaw Hills.
The weekly group will take place every Monday from 2pm–4pm and aims to provide a welcoming and fully inclusive space where people can socialise, access support, and enjoy activities.
The group will also offer valuable respite opportunities for carers and help connect individuals with additional local services and organisations.
As part of their commitment to supporting the local community, Middleshaw Hills has agreed to provide weekly refreshments for attendees, helping ensure everyone can enjoy the group regardless of financial circumstances.
Gwyneth Walne, Manager Ribble Valley CrossRoads Care, said, “I am thrilled to announce a new community group will be coming to Barrow.
“Crossroads is a local charity which has served the Ribble Valley providing care at home and community activities for 35 years. We are delighted to have Middleshaw Hills working in partnership with us to provide an afternoon tea along with activities and a chance to catch up with friends and neighbours.”
Susanne Garth-Jones, the Customer Relationship Manager at Middleshaw Hills, added, “At Middleshaw Hills, being part of the community means everything to us, and we’re delighted to be involved in such a positive project.
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet with Gwyneth and learn more about the organisation and its new community support group. We’re really excited to be able to support this initiative.”
