The rating comes after a series of five-star reviews since opening its doors in January 2026. One review, left by the daughter of a resident at Merceode Lodge, said,
“What a beautiful care home. From the moment you arrive you feel at home. The grounds are stunning, and the staff are all wonderful.
“The food is really delicious, and you feel like you’re on holiday in a 5* hotel. A hairdresser visits every Tuesday (no extra cost) and a chiropodist also is available. The ladies can have their nails done. All the staff are so engaging from the receptionist to the chef, maintenance man and everyone else. I am super impressed.”
Speaking of their own experience at Merceode Lodge, resident Keith Hugget said, “Its perfect, everything is at hand, the food is very good, and everything is included in the cost.”
Another resident, Marie Brooks, added, “I love going outside in the garden and spending time with the friends I have made here. This morning, I had my nails manicured, which makes me happy!”
