Located in the peaceful village of Hatton, just outside Burton upon Trent, Dovebourne is thoughtfully designed to offer the perfect blend of comfort, personalised care and contemporary living. Located on the corner of Derby Road and Station Road on the site of the Salt Box Cafe, our cafe is named ‘The Salt Box’ as a nod to the well-known eatery.

With 66 spacious en-suite bedrooms, bright communal lounges, inviting dining areas and beautifully landscaped gardens for relaxation, fresh air and connection. Our aim is to build a warm community where residents feel settled, supported and proud to call Dovebourne home. Each bedroom also features Sensio RoomMate, a discreet acoustic monitoring system that promotes safety while supporting residents’ independence and dignity.
We offer a range of care options including, residential, dementia and respite care, delivered by a compassionate, professional team who take the time to understand each resident’s routines, preferences and needs. Families will be welcomed as partners in care, with open communication and ongoing support throughout their loved one’s journey.

Meet Melanie, our General Manager, who brings nearly four decades of experience in the care sector to our home.
Melanie began her career in 1987 as a Residential Social Worker with the London Borough of Ealing Council. Since then, she has remained passionate about supporting people to live safe, dignified, and fulfilling lives.
Over the years, she has progressed from frontline roles into senior leadership and has proudly served as a CQC Registered Manager for 26 years. Her extensive experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and hands-on leadership ensure the highest standards of care are always at the heart of what we do.
Melanie is dedicated to building supportive, effective teams and delivering truly person-centred care that makes a meaningful difference each and every day. Having worked for just four employers throughout her career, she brings loyalty, stability, and a genuine passion for the sector.

/seGemma joins Dovebourne Care Home as Customer Relationship Manager, bringing over 20 years of experience in welcoming, supporting, and building strong relationships with clients and families.
For the past nine years, Gemma worked as a Patient Coordinator within a busy aesthetics and private GP clinic, where she guided patients through every stage of their journey. This role strengthened her passion for delivering a personalised, reassuring experience and ensuring people always felt listened to, informed, and cared for.
Prior to this, Gemma spent 13 years front of house at Mercedes-Benz of Derby, where she developed a warm, professional approach and a genuine enjoyment of meeting new people and creating positive first impressions.
In her role at Dovebourne, Gemma is dedicated to supporting residents and their families with empathy, understanding, and clear communication, helping them feel confident and comfortable every step of the way.
Outside of work, Gemma enjoys walks in the Peak District with her dogs, holidays abroad with her partner and two girls, and relaxing with a good movie.
