Hatton’s newest care home, Dovebourne, has officially opened its doors to the public following a successful Spring Soiree held on Saturday 11th April.
The event welcomed local residents and families for a day of celebration, live entertainment and guided tours of the brand-new facilities. Councillor Angela Archer, Chair of South Derbyshire District Council, attended to lead a ribbon cutting ceremony and said,
“It was a pleasure to open this new home, which has been thoughtfully designed to provide high-quality, compassionate care for older people in our community, including those living with dementia.
“As someone who works in the care sector myself, I know all too well how important a wonderful environment like this can be to a resident, their family and friends. I can’t wait to visit again in the future and meet residents and staff as they settle into their new home.”
Guests enjoyed an elegant afternoon complete with performances from a vintage singer and live piano music, as well as a traditional afternoon tea with refreshments served in the home’s beautifully designed dining area.
Visitors were also invited to explore Dovebourne’s tea room, affectionately named Salt Box in tribute to the café that once stood on the site.
A raffle held throughout the day raised £239 for South Derbyshire Foodbank, with prizes including a meal at The Dog and Partridge, a facial with Four18 Aesthetics, a camping set and park voucher from Dom Amott, and a dashcam from Motorpoint Derby.
