Stowe Mount care home will be turning pink on Friday 23rd October to celebrate much-loved carer Fiona, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Residents, relatives, colleagues and members of the local community are invited to join the home for a coffee, cake and bingo event at 11am, recognising Fiona’s incredible journey and raising awareness of breast cancer.
Known and loved by everyone at Stowe Mount, Fiona has faced an unexpected and challenging 18 months after finding a lump in early 2025 and later receiving diagnoses of both breast and skin cancer.
With the support of her family, her best friend and fellow Senior Carer Wendy, and her colleagues, Fiona has continued to look forward with positivity, even while adapting to life with lymphedema and ongoing medication.
Determined to give back, Fiona also took on a 100-mile walking challenge alongside colleagues Wendy and Tina, raising more than £700 for Breast Cancer Research.
Rebecca Brisow, General Manager at Stowe Mount said: “Fiona is an inspiration to us all. Throughout everything she has faced, she has remained caring and positive. Turning Stowe Mount pink is our way of celebrating her, recognising her achievements and showing our support for everyone affected by breast cancer.”
