Crystal Care Collection has announced the appointment of Wendy Luck as General Manager of its forthcoming Bicester care home, Otwell Grove, currently under construction.
Marking an exciting milestone in the development of the new home, Wendy and Maria Taylor, Managing Director at Crystal Care Collection, recently visited the construction site to place the final solar panel on the roof, symbolising the completion of a key stage of the build.
In addition to it’s solar panels, Otwell Grove will incorporate several other green features such as advanced battery storage systems to optimise energy use, sustainable building materials, ground source heat pump technology to reduce emissions, and water-saving measures.
Wendy brings an exceptional wealth of experience to Otwell Grove, having dedicated more than 40 years to the care sector. Her career began within the NHS, where she spent over three decades working across a variety of clinical settings, predominantly supporting older people.
The final 12 years of her NHS career were spent in trauma care, an environment she describes as both demanding and incredibly rewarding. Wendy then transitioned into the social care sector, where she has spent the past 18 years as a Registered Manager, specialising in transforming and revitalising care homes.
Speaking following her visit to the construction site, Wendy said:
“It was a privilege to place the final solar panel on Otwell Grove and see first-hand how the home is taking shape.
“Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating homes that are known for quality, kindness and excellence. I am excited to bring that vision to Otwell Grove and to build a team that will provide outstanding care and support for residents and their families.”
A proud mother of three and grandmother to four granddaughters aged between one and eight years old, Wendy enjoys spending her free time with family.
Otwell Grove will offer high-quality residential, dementia and respite care in a purpose-built setting designed to provide comfort, wellbeing and an enriching lifestyle for residents. Once open, the home will create new employment opportunities in the local area and become a valued part of the Bicester community.
