A local care home in Bexhill is celebrating its first anniversary after an outstanding year defined by award-winning excellence and community spirit.
Collington Park Lodge, part of Crystal Care Collection, opened its doors one year ago and has quickly become a welcoming home in the heart of Bexhill, providing high-quality residential and dementia care.
Over the past twelve months, the home has had lots to celebrate including Jason Field, a care assistant at Collington Park Lodge who was named the winner in the Overcoming Challenges category at the Andor Awards.
The home has also achieved five-star food hygiene ratings from the Food Standards Agency in two inspections.
Community spirit has been a defining feature of life at Collington Park Lodge. In total, the home has raised over £600 for charities including Help for Heroes and Bexhill and Battle Foodbank, as well as offering support to Bexhill Environmental Group on numerous beach clean-ups.
To celebrate the home’s first anniversary, the local community were invited to a Summer BBQ where people enjoyed delicious food, entertainment from Punch and Judy, a live musician, garden games, and an ice cream van.
83-year-old resident, Carol Franks, said, “I enjoy living here. I have friends, I have my own space, and so many lovely staff members make sure I am okay every day.”
Bianca Wilson, the General Manager at Collington Park Lodge, added, “We are incredibly proud to be celebrating our first anniversary here at Collington Park Lodge.
“It has been a wonderful year of building a strong, supportive community for our residents, their families, and the wider Bexhill area. I want to thank our dedicated team for their hard work and compassion every day, and the local community for welcoming us so warmly.”
Residents and staff at Collington Park Lodge are now inviting all to CollingtonFest on Saturday 18th July from 3pm until 7:30pm, where they can enjoy an afternoon full of live music, great food and drink, and lots of fun. All proceeds from the event will be donated to a charity to be chosen by the residents.
