Estuary Gardens care home in Deeside, operated by Crystal Care Collection, has been rated ‘Good’ across all report categories during their first inspection with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) less than a year since welcoming their first resident.
During the visit, inspectors observed the residents’ experience in the home. They spoke to residents, their families, and staff members, seeking feedback on the service the care home offers.
Upon arriving at Estuary Gardens, the inspectors said, ‘the home’s warm and welcoming atmosphere puts people and visitors at ease’ and commented on the exceptional levels of support offered by the ‘highly motivated, skilled and dedicated’ team.
Talking about the care home’s purpose-built design, inspectors noted that Estuary Gardens has an ‘air of grandeur’, whilst also ‘enhancing people’s quality of life and creating a homely environment’.
As the inspectors walked around the home, it was reported that residents took ‘great comfort from their warm interactions with staff’ and that residents’ voices were ‘consistently heard and respected’.
A visiting professional told inspectors, “As soon as you enter you can see how cared for the residents are. It is such a friendly and fun place to be. The staff are amazing; the food is restaurant standard and varied”.
After observing mealtimes at Estuary Gardens, the inspectors reported that residents enjoyed a relaxing dining experience, with residents commenting that the ‘food is excellent and like a hotel.’
