Fairwood Fields care home in Pontefract welcomed local councillors to its weekly ‘Neighbourhood Natter’ coffee morning.
Held every Wednesday, the popular event invites members of the public to join residents for tea, coffee and cakes.
A recent gathering welcomed local councillors Brian Mayhew, George Ayre and Julie Craig, who spent time chatting with residents and team members.
During the visit, councillors also met with Customer Relationship Manager Amy to explore ways of working together to support the local community through shared initiatives and offering space for community groups to meet.
Resident Linda Harris said, “It was a nice morning, and it was good to be able to talk to different people about different things. It was great hearing about everyone’s previous jobs and lives.”
Lynn Robbinson, General Manager at Fairwood Fields, added, “It was great for the residents to be able to share their experiences with the councillors and see how Pontefract has changed and is continuing to improve.
We are always open to the community, and our coffee morning is a great way of getting to know one another. It will be great to work with the local councillors moving forwards.”
