Estuary Gardens, a new purpose-built care home set to open in Deeside later this year, is delighted to introduce Simon Doherty as its General Manager.
Part of the Crystal Care Collection, Estuary Gardens will provide high-quality residential and dementia care for up to 66 older adults. The home has been designed to offer comfort, connection, and enrichment for residents, combining state-of-the-art facilities with a compassionate, person-centred approach to care.
With over 24 years of experience managing care homes, Simon is a passionate advocate for creating warm, welcoming environments where residents are encouraged to live their best lives.
A trained Dementia Mapper, he places a strong emphasis on truly understanding the individual—supporting people not just physically, but emotionally and socially as well.
In recognition of his exceptional dedication, Simon was named Northwest Regional Winner in the Dementia Carer category at the Great British Care Awards 2024. Simon said,
‘Estuary Gardens will be a place that feels like home—where residents feel safe, valued, and remain part of the community they know and love. Through our ‘Community Tree’ initiative, we’ll be connecting with local people, schools, voluntary groups, and organisations to ensure our residents always feel like they belong.’
Estuary Gardens will host a Grand Opening event to welcome local families, professionals, and community members on Saturday 13th September. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the home, meet Simon and his team, and learn more about Estuary Gardens.
