Archbridge Manor care home in Telford, operated by Crystal Care Collection, recently welcomed its very first resident.
Ro Thomas (92), who moved into the care home some after opening, described the experience as overwhelmingly positive.
Ro said, “Moving somewhere new is always a big step and, naturally, I felt a little nervous beforehand. But from the minute I walked through the doors, everyone made me feel so welcome.”
A strong sense of community is a key part of life at Archbridge Manor, something Ro says she experienced from day one, saying,
“I’ve already enjoyed lots of activities and trips out to church, and met lots of lovely people. It’s amazing how quickly you can feel part of a community.”
Ro also offered reassuring advice to anyone who may be considering a move into a care home but feels uncertain about taking the first step.
“I know it can seem daunting because I felt exactly the same before I moved in, but the reality has been so much better than I imagined. If you’re worried about making the move, my advice would be not to let those fears hold you back.”
Gemma Fearon, General Manager at Archbridge Manor said: “Welcoming our first resident was a special moment for everyone at Archbridge Manor. Ro has become an important part of our community, and we are delighted to hear how positive her experience has been.”
