Crystal Care Collection has announced the operation of an upcoming care home, Baysfield Gardens, a purpose‑built home in Wymondham which will provide high‑quality residential and dementia care for older people in Norfolk.
Norfolk faces a significant challenge in later-life care, with forecasts suggesting the county will need 17,949 care-home beds by 2036, alongside an annual increase of around 382 beds to keep pace with demand.
Building a new purpose-built care home in Wymondham reflects the clear and growing need for modern later-life accommodation across Norfolk, and Baysfield Gardens has been designed to address this need.
Baysfield Gardens will provide 66 en‑suite bedrooms, bright lounges and dining areas, a salon, family spaces, a cinema, and accessible facilities that support independence and wellbeing.
Baysfield Gardens will also use innovative Sensio RoomMate technology, an acoustic monitoring safety sensor, discreetly located on the media wall in resident bedrooms and designed to support individual care needs whilst respecting privacy – without cameras, noise, or constant interruptions.
Once the home is fully occupied, circa 60 new roles will be created, including care, housekeeping, catering, management and activities team members.
This will bring significant long‑term employment opportunities to Wymondham, with Crystal Care Collection committed to recruiting locally and offering training and development for people seeking a career in care.
Liz Walker, Managing Director at Crystal Care Collection, said, “Baysfield Gardens represents an important step forward for later-life care in Norfolk, bringing together high-quality residential and dementia care, modern design and thoughtful technology.
We are proud to be creating a home that offers dignity and reassurance for families, while also supporting local jobs and long-term investment in Wymondham and the wider community.”
Baysfield Gardens is located on Eden Way, Wymondham, NR18 9JB.
