Residents at Middleshaw Hills care home, part of Crystal Care Collection, celebrated World Art Day on Wednesday 15th April with some springtime themed painting.
Voted one of the most popular care home activities in a recent survey with Crystal Care Collection residents across the country, this creative pastime went down treat at Middleshaw Hills.
Two residents in particular, Gwen Jones and Margot Roberts, especially enjoyed the celebration. Gwen said,
“I have always enjoyed doing art since being at school, I remember trying to copy a picture of Princess Margaret! Art runs in my family; my son and grandson also have a love for art. I would say colouring in templates is my favourite art activity to do.”
Margot added, “I studied in occupational therapy and art was a big chunk of this. I remember doing paintings when I was younger and the odd one was sold at a local club for a charity. My favourite type of art is using acrylic paints”
Charlotte Pardon, the General Manager at Middleshaw Hills, commented, “Arts and crafts are such a valuable part of our activities timetable; they offer so many wellbeing benefits, and everyone has such an amazing time together.
“World Art Day has certainly become a favourite at Middleshaw Hills!”
