Care Home in Clitheroe Hosts Monthly Community Pop-Up Bakery

3 March 2026 Middleshaw Hills

Middleshaw Hills care home in Clitheroe is welcoming members of the local community to its free Monthly Pop-Up Bakery.

Open to everyone, the Pop-Up Bakery offers a range of homemade baked goods alongside hot drinks, with both sit-in and takeaway options available. The next event will take place on Tuesday 24th March, from 9:30am to 12:00pm, at the home in Clitheroe.

Visitors can expect a selection of freshly baked items, including traditional loaves, blueberry muffins, chocolate éclairs and millionaire’s flapjack, with additional bakes available on the day.

The bakery is led by Sous Chef Andrew Whitehead, whose homemade baking has become a regular highlight for residents and visitors alike.

The initiative has been well received by the local community. Julie Tennant, who attended a recent Pop-Up Bakery, said,

“Katie, my granddaughter, very proudly carried the cakes home and shared them with the family for lunch. This is such an excellent idea from a lovely care home. It’s really nice that the community are included in these kinds of activities.”

Charlotte Pardon, the General Manager at Middleshaw Hills, added, “Our Pop-Up Bakery is about more than just delicious homemade treats, it’s about bringing people together. Seeing residents and visitors enjoying time together is exactly what Middleshaw Hills is all about”
