Maris View, a new residential and dementia care home opening in Eastbourne this April, is pleased to announce the appointment of May Powell as its General Manager.
May brings over 21 years of experience in the care sector and a deep commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
Holding an NVQ Level 5 in Management and Leadership, alongside a degree in Psychology, May has supported people across a wide range of care settings throughout her career.
For the past nine years, she has held senior management roles within nursing and dementia care, as well as learning disability services. Open communication is central to her approach, and she actively encourages families to remain involved in their loved one’s care.
May said, “I feel privileged to be leading Maris View as we prepare to open our doors. Moving into care can be an emotional and challenging decision.
“My priority is to ensure residents and families feel listened to and reassured in knowing that Maris View is a place people can call home.”
Outside of work, May enjoys playing the piano, reading, advocating for animal welfare, and spending quality time with her daughters.
May the team at Maris View will be inviting the local community to a Grand Open Day on Saturday 25th April from 14:00, where all will be welcome to enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, and guided tours of the new home.
