Merceode Lodge Care Home in Marchwood officially marked its Grand Opening on Valentine’s Day, welcoming guests from across the local community including Councillor John Sleep (Chairman) and his Consort, and Councillor Richard Young.
Also in attendance were Marchwood Parish Council members and Waterside Gateway Club, including Chairman Nigel Cooper.
The event kicked off with guests enjoying ‘Romeo & Juliet’ prosecco, canopies, live music, magic tricks, wellbeing taster treatments, and guided tours.

Special thanks were extended to Bob at Marchwood’s Men’s Shed who donated a beautifully crafted bird table for the residents’ garden, and to the children of Twiggs Lane Preschool who presented a Valentine’s ‘Messages of Love’ board.
The afternoon concluded with ribbon cutting ceremony and a raffle in aid of the home’s nominated charity, Waterside Gateway Club.
General Manager Helen Chapman said, “The turnout for our Grand Opening exceeded all expectations, and it was so special to share our beautiful home with members of the local community.
“We are especially thrilled to have now welcomed our first residents, and we look forward to growing our Merceode Lodge family in the weeks ahead.”
