Chapelford Primary School students recently created “Bags of Kindness” for residents at Arplemere care home in Warrington as part of Children’s Mental Health Week.
The initiative, designed to promote wellbeing, involved the children preparing delicious homemade cakes and crafting personalised photo frames for residents.
97‑year‑old resident Thomas “Tom” Riley, expressed his thanks:
“The children are just wonderful. They make this world such a happy place, and to go out of their way to make us a little bag of kindness has truly made my day. Thank you so much.”
To show their appreciation, residents at Arplemere created bags of sweet treats for the school children. Laura Aspin, the General Manager at Arplemere, added,
“We are extremely grateful for our relationship with Chapelford Primary School. Community connections like these are important, so that our residents always feel a part of the local area.
“We’d like to thank all the children at Chapelford Primary School for these wonderful Bags of Kindness, which put smiles on all our residents’ faces!”
