Bradshaw Lodge Care Home and Bartons Primary School Bury Time Capsule

8 April 2026 Bradshaw Lodge

Residents and staff at Bognor Regis care home, Bradshaw Lodge, recently came together with pupils from Bartons Primary School as they buried a time capsule within the care home grounds to capture a snapshot of life in 2026.

The time capsule was carefully prepared by the schoolchildren, who selected a variety of meaningful items that reflect their daily lives.

Among the contents placed inside the capsule were a Bartons Primary School T-shirt and detailed information about the lessons pupils take part in, the resources they use, and what everyday life at school is like. The children also contributed a school newsletter highlighting STEM activities and recent school trips.

A copy of the Bognor Observer was included to provide context about local events and news at the time, alongside a written piece reflecting on what life is like for children growing up in 2026.

As part of the event, the children also shared some Spring-themed poetry reading aloud to residents and staff. Chrissy Terry, the Customer Relationship Manager at Bradshaw Lodge, said,

“It’s always wonderful to connect our residents with the local school community. The sun was shining, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.

“We’re already looking forward to welcoming the children back later in the year to perform songs from their upcoming musical production.”
