Fairwood Fields care home in Pontefract, who recently welcomed their first residents, lent their support to the Pontefract Community Kitchen as part of a volunteer initiative.
The home’s kitchen team prepared a hearty hot meal featuring homemade lasagne and pie, while care staff volunteered their time to assist the other volunteers throughout the day.
Ann Lancaster, who leads the Pontefract Community Kitchen, expressed her thanks following the visit, saying, “We really appreciate the support from Fairwood Fields. Everyone who attended made lovely comments about the food and were very happy.”
Lynn Robinson, the General Manager at Fairwood Fields, added, “We are so proud to work closely with such an inspiring organisation. The impact that Pontefract Community Kitchen has on people in our area is something we deeply admire, and we look forward to continuing our support of local charities.”
