General Manager

Don started his career in the hospitality industry. Working there for many years he learned lots of skills that stand him will in the care sector.

20 years ago he moved from Ireland to England and made the move into the care sector. He has worked his way up from being a care assistant to a home manager, and he has a wide range of experience from managing Residential, Nursing and Learning Disability services. He is excited to be managing Dale Brook.

Akilah is a native of Texas, USA but has been a Derbyshire resident for the past ten years. She is passionate about social inclusion and empowering people from all backgrounds to live their happiest and healthiest lives.

Akilah received her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Technology and Performance Improvement and has extensive administrative experience in America as well as the UK. She is excited to bring her wealth of knowledge into the care industry supporting the Dale Brook staff and residents.

Lauren began her career as a Travel Agent, working in the industry for two years before moving into the Welfare to Work sector. For over five years, she worked as a Skills Trainer, teaching life skills, promoting independence, and supporting people to make positive changes in their lives.

Throughout her career, Lauren has been passionate about making a difference, supporting vulnerable people, and bringing kindness and compassion into everything she does. Helping others has always been at the heart of Lauren’s work.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys keeping active, travelling, and spending time with her two Bengal cats.
