Gillingham Grange care home in Chard is proud to be supporting local people through its strong relationship with Chard Community Hub and Chard Community Fridge.
The Chard Community Fridge provides essential foods to local people and works to reduce food waste but does not have cooking facilities on site.
To help address this, Chard Community Fridge receives donations of jacket potatoes, which Gillingham Grange has volunteered to cook each week before they are distributed.
Amanda Whyte, General Manager at Gillingham Grange, said:
“We’re really pleased to be able to support the Chard Community Food Hub in this practical way. It’s a simple thing for us to do, but it makes a real difference to people in the community. We’re proud to work closely with the Community Hub and Food Hub and to play our part in supporting local residents.”
You can find out more about Gillingham Grange’s community initiatives and partnerships at the home’s monthly Fish and Chip Friday event, where all are welcome on the last Friday of the month to enjoy homemade fish and chips with the residents.
