Amanda Whyte
General Manager
Amanda has worked in the Health and Social Care sector since the age of 17, starting as a Health Care Assistant and progressing through different roles. She studied Health and Social Care at college before moving to Plymouth, where she completed a BSc in Management in Health and Social Care (Level 6). She graduated while nine months pregnant with her now 11-year-old son, Harry. At the age of 26, Amanda became a Registered Manager and has since successfully managed three care homes.
She lives and breathes being a Registered Manager and could never imagine doing anything else. Amanda has an unwavering love and respect for all of the residents she supports, alongside a strong commitment to ensuring colleagues are empowered to provide the highest standards of care while also enjoying every moment of their work.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys being with Harry—her favourite moments are attending his many sports matches and cheering him on from the sidelines. Together, they also love to sing and dance at every opportunity. She has a passion for travelling and has recently found a real love for solo adventures.
Amanda has a lovable, bouncy cockapoo named Barney and a cheeky cat named Jack, both of whom bring her great joy.
“Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Seventeen years in care, and this has never changed for Amanda.

Ruth brings over 11 years of experience in health and social care, with a brief break to complete her degree in psychology. Her career began in domiciliary care before progressing into residential, supported living, and nursing care settings in Wales.
Since 2020, Ruth has steadily advanced her career, developing her expertise as a manual handling trainer before leading her own team. She went on to become an Advanced Practitioner, specialising in care planning and compliance, before stepping into Deputy Manager roles across both elderly and children’s services.
In April this year, Ruth relocated to Devon after successfully leading her team through an excellent inspection with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
