Estuary Gardens, a brand-new, purpose-built care home in Deeside welcomed Councillor Mel Buckley and over 100 community guests for their Grand Opening Day event.

The home offers top quality residential and dementia care, featuring 66 en-suite bedrooms, landscaped gardens, a cinema room, a beauty salon, and the latest in care technology to support residents’ wellbeing and independence.

Councillor Buckley, Chair of Flintshire County Council, performed the official ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the celebration.

It was also announced that Estuary Gardens are now the proud sponsors of the Sealand Spartans FC, who were in attendance sporting their new football kits.

Guests were able to enjoy a huge variety of entertaining activities, including chair yoga by Autumn and Gary Green, animal encounters with A-Z Safari, sleight of hand by Magician Kevin Jay, and live music by DJ Cookieman.

A tombola stall was held in aid of Nanny Biscuit, a local volunteer-led initiative providing food and other resources to those in need, successfully raising £101 thanks to the generosity of attendees.

Councillor Buckley said,

“It was a pleasure to attend the grand opening of Estuary Gardens and to see first-hand the care and investment that has gone into creating this new home. The day was very well attended by the local community, with a wonderful range of activities bringing people together in celebration.

“Facilities like this make a real difference to residents and their families, and it’s fantastic to welcome such an important addition to our community.”
