Ellesmere Port care home, Willowmere Lodge, donated £270 to Cambridge Road Nursery and Primary School following the success of its Open Day fundraising event.
The Open Day brought together the local community, with all proceeds going towards supporting the nearby school.
Recently, Willowmere Lodge was delighted to welcome Head Teacher Donna Wellings, Chair of Governors Heather Berry, and the school’s Head Boy and Head Girl for a visit.
Guests enjoyed a tour of Willowmere Lodge, spent time meeting residents, and discussed how the donation would benefit the school. The school has already chosen to use the £270 donation to purchase brand-new football kits.
Donna Wellings, Head Teacher at Cambridge Road Nursery and Primary School, said:
“A huge thank you to Willowmere Lodge for inviting me, our Chair of Governors, and two of our amazing pupils, our Head Boy and Head Girl, into your beautiful home this week. We were delighted to enjoy a tour of the residence and, to top it all off, receive a generous cheque for £270.
“This marks the beginning of an exciting journey between Cambridge Road and Willowmere Lodge, bringing together different generations, building meaningful connections and creating wonderful opportunities for our pupils and residents alike.”
Lorraine Purvor, General Manager at Willowmere Lodge added:
“We are thrilled that our event was able to raise £270 for such a deserving local school. Supporting our local community is at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to building an even stronger relationship with Cambridge Road Nursery and Primary School in the future.”
