Barry and Valerie Revell from Copperfield Court care home in Broadstairs celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary with family and friends, sharing the details of their wedding day.
Barry and Valerie met in 1959 whilst Barry was working at RAF Kirton in Lindsey. The pair courted, and lived together for six years before one day, Barry simply said “Shall we get married?”
Opting for a small, family only wedding, their ceremony was held on 24th August at Ramsgate Registry Office, followed by a meal at The Ambassador’s Restaurant.
Barry said, “I remember how beautiful Val looked in her two-piece red suit with a black blouse.”
To celebrate their anniversary, the team at Copperfield Court organised a special lunch for Barry, Valerie and their family in the home’s garden room, complete with a homemade cake. The couple added,
“We had an excellent lunch, and our family really enjoyed themselves. It made our anniversary a memorable day.”
When asked their advice to keeping a happy marriage, Barry said, “Always look after one another and love each other forever.”
