Rownhams Manor care home in Southampton was filled with festive cheer as residents welcomed pupils from Rownhams St John’s CE Primary School for a series of Christmas craft sessions.
The intergenerational visit saw residents and children come together for three engaging craft activities, included making Christmas baubles and festive colouring.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Maureen Street (90), a resident at Rownhams Manor, said: “I loved seeing all the children and they made me a wonderful Christmas decoration.”
Fellow resident Barrie Whiteford added: “I really do love children, and it was so nice to get to spend time with them and share stories together.”
The visit was organised as part of Crystal Care Collection’s Community Tree initiative, designed to encourage local people, schools, voluntary groups, and organisations to take part in shared activities, events, and projects with care home residents.
Samantha Squibb, General Manager at Rownhams Manor, commented: “It was wonderful to see our residents and the children spending such special time together. We are very grateful to Rownhams St John’s CE Primary School for joining us and helping to create such memorable moments.”
