Crystal Care Collection are focused on making our homes not just luxury places for our residents to live, but also wonderful places for our team members to work. As a Bank Second Cook, you will work in preparing all residents’ meals, ensuring work is carried out in a safe and hygienic way, the kitchen is kept clean, meeting the Food Safety guidelines and the care homes own high standards in the absence of the Second Cook.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Bank Second Cook, you will work closely with the Head Chef to help prepare and cook all food and meals to the highest standard within the care home. Assisting with the preparation of delicious and nutritious meals for our residents based around specific dietary requirements, choices and desires whilst maintaining a safe and clean environment. The catering team plays a key part in our home and you will become part of the care home family.
- We are looking for someone who is passionate about the food they cook and takes pride in what is served to our residents on a day-to-day basis. Previous experience would be an advantage, as would a food hygiene qualification.
What We’re Looking for
- Six Months Kitchen Experience (required)
- Care Home experience (preferred)
- IDDSI/Specialist diet provision experience (desirable)
- Experience working in a care home (desirable)
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
- Calm under pressure with excellent organisational skills
- Flexible, dependable, and professional in approach
- A passion for great food and high standards
- Understanding of COSHH, Food Hygiene and Regulations surrounding food safety
- Must hold Level 3 Food Hygiene Qualification
Your hours of work will be 08.00 – 18.00 as and when required
